Turmeric has been featured more predominately in our diet of recent years, being a superfood. However Ayurveda has long ago identified the benefits of this amazing spice. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric and more and more studies are showing it helps to rejuvenate your skin, restores digestion, and cures inflammation in your body. This is important in heart disease, brain health, arthritis, depression and more chronic diseases.
Try this incredibly delicious turmeric hummus. The apple cider vinegar really brings it alive!
-2 cups chickpeas (cooked, you can use canned)
-1 garlic clove
-1 tbsp tahini
-3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
-1 tsp turmeric
-Touch of sea salt
Add all ingredients together in a food processor. Blend until creamy.
Serve with veggie sticks, brown rice tortilla chips, on a salad, in a wrap or as a sandwich spread. Enjoy!
