The festive season is finally here! *pulls out Santa hat*
One of the best things about Christmas is that there are no rules! Mince pies for breakfast? Yes. Second glass of fizz at Tuesday lunch? Yes. Maybe just shorten that gym sesh to 30 mins? Yes.
Don’t worry, you’re human. It’s only natural that our priorities shift and change over the silly season! Before you beat yourself up, we are here to share some top tricks with you on how to get through the festive season so you can have your Christmas ham (and eat it too!).
More H2O – Hydration is key (especially for when you’ve downed a few Moscatos or beers with your work fam) to help flush out all of the toxins from your system, and kick start your metabolism. Aim for about 2-2.5 litres a day for optimal recovery.
NOTE: For that extra detox kick, add in some lemon to your glass.
Eat nourishing foods – Ever wake up with a food hangover? You ate that bit too much yesterday and now you’re groggy, bloated and not feeling good. The day after is when you need to stock up on foods that are high in Vitamin B, they’re a great way to help detox after a day/night of over indulging and leave you feeling fresh. Some of the best Vitamin B enriched foods include: Wholegrains, meat, fish, eggs, beans, lentils and leafy greens
Simply get moving – We all know that exercise is a great way to boost energy levels – thanks to the release of endorphins (happy hormones) into our system, but getting back into a routine can also help us start to feel like ourselves again and boost those sluggish energy levels. We know it’s hard but the day after a night out, pull yourself out of bed and head to your nearest YB studio (or FNF club) and let us help you get back on track. For some extra motivation bring a friend with you.

Yoga – Yoga has a tonne of benefits, (that’s why we love it), with one of our festive faves being the ability to help with digestion, especially for when we’ve eaten a bit too much the day before. Click here for our top 5 fave yoga poses that will help kick start your digestion after a day of overindulging – your insides will thank you for it.
Goal setting – The festive season can often be a busy time for us and we tend to lose focus on our goals. Take control by planning out meals and workout routines for when the festive season starts to wrap up. When you have these goals written down, it means you are holding yourself accountable and are more likely to stick to them.
It’s important to remember that, the festive season is a joyful time that is spent with family and friends (and eating a whole lot of delicious food), so don’t feel discouraged if you start to get off track, you can always bounce back.
